Pacific Consulting Group has a team of 20 professionals who offer broad experience in customer and employee satisfaction consulting.
Our team is experienced in focus group facilitation, survey development, survey analysis, statistics, management analysis, operations analysis, management consulting, and report writing. The majority of our staff members have master's degrees or higher from nationally-ranked institutions.
Tom Cooper
President

Tom co-founded PCG in 1980 and continues to provide overall strategic guidance to the firm. He directs most of PCG's largest client projects and was one of the principal architects of Net Impression®. Tom has over 25 years of experience in helping organizations design and implement strategies to increase organizational performance, sales, and profits. He holds a BA in economics from Princeton University and an MBA from Stanford Business School, where he has since taught courses in Services Marketing.
Peter Webb

A co-founder of PCG, Pete has over 30 years of business, consulting, and teaching experience, with primary emphasis in service design and improvement, survey research, quantitative methods, and marketing communications. He directs many projects, and with Tom, was a principal developer of Net Impression® and remains actively involved in all aspects of this one-of-a-kind measurement and improvement approach. Pete has lectured at Stanford University Graduate School of Business and was Assistant Professor of Business Administration at the University of Illinois. He holds a BA in mathematics and economics from Yale University, an MBA from the University of Chicago, and a PhD in marketing from the Stanford University Graduate School of Business.
Ellen McNeil

Ellen manages the internal operations of PCG and serves as project director and senior consultant. As a consultant at PCG in the 1980s, she assisted in the development of Net Impression®. Ellen returned to the firm in 1999 after eight years as Vice President of The Zitter Group (TZG), a health care information company. At TZG, she managed the firm's core product lines, conferences, training publications, market research, and electronic tools and programs for use by medical directors, pharmacy directors, and quality improvement directors in managed care, physician groups, hospitals, and integrated systems. She has a BA from Lewis and Clark College and an MBA from Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University, where she specialized in marketing and in public/non-profit management.
Melanie Barton
Director, Federal Business Development

Melanie is Director of Federal Business Development for PCG and is located in Arlington, Virginia, near our federal clients. Melanie has more than 20 years of experience working in the federal government marketplace, including 14 years in business development. She has expertise in student financial aid and education financing and has also developed and sold related services to the higher education market. Prior to joining PCG, she worked for Pearson Government Solutions for 18 years and previously held administrative positions at higher education institutions. She holds a BA from Simmons College and an MA in Education from the Harvard Graduate School of Education. She has also taught marketing as an adjunct faculty member at National-Louis University in a bachelor degree program for adult learners.
Elaine Chan

Elaine manages customer satisfaction and other research projects at PCG. Elaine brings over 20 years of business-to-business and consumer-based market research experience. Prior to joining PCG in 2003, Elaine worked as an independent consultant assisting clients such as Adobe Systems and Nortel Networks. She assisted in the development of new product strategies with qualitative focus group research, in-depth interviews, and market intelligence activities. Elaine also worked for Oracle Corporation managing global research for Oracle's Education/Consulting Division. Her consumer research experience was focused on customer satisfaction and direct mail effectiveness studies for JD Power and Associates and Allstate Insurance, respectively. Elaine's educational background includes a BS in Business and an MBA, both from San Jose State University.
Yvonne Nomizu
Director, Customer Innovation and Improvement

Yvonne directs PCG’s innovation and improvement practice, leading initiatives to improve the customer experience, develop new services, and improve impact on customers and the business. She draws on over 25 years of experience as a marketing executive responsible for communications and products/services and for influencing customer behavior, streamlining processes, and leveraging technology for operational results. Most recently, Yvonne led Sakari Consulting—a customer experience design firm—and was Vice President/Business Manager for a Goldman Sachs Private Wealth office where she helped drive service and sales excellence. Previous positions include Principal with CSC Index, New Products Director at a Johnson & Johnson company, Vice President of New Products at Innoventry, and Director of Marketing with Holiday Inn Corporation. Yvonne earned an A.B. from Harvard University and an M.B.A. from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
Peter Morris
CFO/Director, Decision Modeling

Dr. Peter Morris heads PCG’s Decision Modeling practice, focusing on helping organizations predict customer choices and optimize operational results. Pete has 30 years of experience creating quantitative models that result in more cost-effective decisions leading to better and more transparent results. Prior to joining PCG, Pete was co-founder and President of VMN Group where he worked for PCG on modeling projects for the IRS, including a tax gap model. He served as CEO of Applied Decision Analysis, Inc. During his tenure, ADA grew to over 100 staff and was acquired by PricewaterhouseCoopers. Pete also worked for Xerox Corporation’s Palo Alto Research Center where he developed applied quantitative modeling tools to forecast customer response to new products, and he was the founding director of the DOD Modeling and Analysis Office in the DOD Office of Systems Analysis. Pete also teaches part-time for the Department of Management Science and Engineering at Stanford University.
Andrea Ptaszek
Senior Project Manager

Located in Boston, Massachusetts, Andrea brings 12 years of experience in health services research to PCG. She has provided methodological expertise on a variety of PCG's efforts and serves as principal investigator and project manager on our health care projects. Andrea managed the development and implementation of a beneficiary satisfaction measurement program for the 1-800-MEDICARE service. As a health services researcher, she has designed and conducted studies in the field of health outcomes research and has a background in economic analysis, econometrics, and psychometric theory. Andrea holds a a BA from Wesleyan University and a PhD in Health Services Research and Policy from the University of Minnesota.
