Education

The Problem

The education market has several distinct segments, ranging from public K-12, private secondary schools, public university systems, private universities and for-profit colleges. What all share in common is the need to satisfy multiple stakeholders with their own needs and agendas. A public university system sees itself as a contributor to the economic and social fabric at a local, regional, national or global level, so their strategies need to address the concerns of employers, legislatures and investors as well as students, parents of students, alumni, faculty, and staff. Understanding the different views is imperative, and it can get complicated to measure “value” from each stakeholder’s viewpoint. Furthermore, leading institutions know that they need to not only gauge stakeholder engagement with the current educational offering but also discern where attitudes, needs and expectations are headed and shape their schools to match the future world. As with other institutions schools need to think in a business-like way about customer acquisition and retention, branding, and outreach.

The Solution

PCG has helped major schools and universities understand their parent/student/alumni expectations and goals to design leading-edge programs, curricula, and service processes. We have conducted multi-year parent surveys to highlight key expectations and progress against strategic goals. We have supported leading universities in surveying alumni about a range of issues. This objective, quantitative research supplements the regular school-to-parent/student/alumni conversations and ensures that the voice of these groups is representative of the whole population and not just the perceptions of the vocal few.

To assist schools with limited budgets and basic survey needs, PCG offers three turn-key solutions:

Basic Package: Customized survey of parents, students, alumni, or faculty (50-80 questions) with prioritization analysis

Deluxe Package: Customized survey of parents, students, alumni, or faculty (80-100 questions) including qualitative research, comment analysis, and presentation

Premier Package: Customized survey of parents, students, alumni, or faculty (100-120 questions) including segmentation, action planning, pulse survey follow up, and alternate matched control sample
