Pacific Consulting Group Awarded a Multiple-Year CMS Contract for Research and Improvement Services
Palo Alto, CA—August 30, 2006—In May 2006, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) awarded Pacific Consulting Group (PCG) an Expedited Research and Demonstration (XRAD) contract. This five-year, plus five optional years, multiple-award contract covers a range of research, analysis, and demonstration projects focused on improving program performance relating to Medicare, Medicaid, the State Children's Health Insurance Program (MM/SCHIP), and other aspects of CMS. PCG has worked with CMS since 2000 on customer measurement and performance improvement projects and is pleased to continue our partnership with CMS under this new contract.
We are also pleased to announce that in August 2006, PCG was awarded an XRAD task order for the Evaluation of the Erickson Demonstration Project. This project will test the feasibility of establishing a Medicare Advantage plan offered exclusively within the Erickson Continuing Care Retirement Communities (CCRCs). The research will address quality of care, enrollment effects, financial risk, and patterns of use of health care under the Erickson Medicare Advantage Plan. PCG will be supported by its subcontractor, the University of Minnesota's Division of Health Services Research and Policy, on this important project.
